Touchless Interaction with PACS in Sterile Operations
TIPSO™ Beam is a novel Touchless Image Navigation technology designed by doctors, for doctors, to enable Sterile Image Review in the surgical space over the surgical bed. TIPSO™ Beam interfaces utilize 3D sensors and proprietary algorithms to understand a physician’s hand and finger movements over-the-drape to navigate/manipulate live and historical imaging records in a touchless and seamless fashion.
About TIPSO™ Beam
—
Intuitive | Comprehensive | Customized
TIPSO™ Beam projects a lighted, virtual menu of image navigation commands on the drape from a mounted position over the bed. Touchless finger-tapping movements enable activation of a full suite of controls to interact with procedural imaging for typical and advanced applications.
Intuitive User Control
- Virtual interface offers a full suite of imaging controls, including scroll, zoom, rotation, pan, window & level, series change, view saving and recalling, and marker placement.
- No awkward limb movements or learned hand gestures.
- Commands are customizable and tunable for individual needs.
- An overlay of the hand and menu is shown on the display in real time to help the operator focus on the monitor.
Connectivity and Compatibility
A control room, separated by a glass-paneled wall, hosts one or more computer workstations with patient medical data.
By connecting the USB Dongle to the workstation and setting up a wireless router for WIFI communications, TIPSO™ Beam can wirelessly control radiology images on the chosen workstation.
While not all ORs have a designated control room, an area is always designated for non-sterile access to a computer workstation.
TIPSO™ Beam is viewer-independent; the relevant mouse and keyboard controls sent from TIPSO™ Beam to the workstation can be configured for any given Radiology Image Viewer Application (provided by vendors, such as Philips, Siemens, or McKesson).
